How do you preserve and celebrate your heritage and culture? I preserve my heritage by making sure my families understand their roots. Our family history is documented through three generations. Sharing the history and stories about my relatives is important to understanding our being. We have family reunions every two or three years to stay in touch.

I also am an advocate for African-American inclusion and participation in the activities and events in the local community. This includes both community and personal development.
Is there a celebration or festival that you particularly enjoy? I have always enjoyed the activities around Black History month and Martin Luther King Day. This is a period of time that the contributions by African-Americans are highlighted and showcased for all to acknowledge. Our race has and continues to play a major role in our society. Another event I always enjoy is Ethnic Expo. This event has become a very loud statement for the values and benefits of a diverse community.
What do you enjoy about living in Columbus? I have lived in Columbus for over 30 years with my wife Mary. We have raised two daughters who are Broadway Entertainers in New York City. I believe the opportunities and experiences of this community helped prepare them for their careers. We have enjoyed the diversity and attitude of the Columbus community.
